Curls

First let me state- this is totally cheating since our book club meeting is tomorrow and we are supposed to be discussing Twilight! Secretly- I am thrilled though! I am bursting to talk about the three books and look forward to your comments on Eclipse! It’s nice to hear the story of you and Blackstone -I was not there to experience it. I also wanted to mention that I hope two men can fall in love a woman in one lifetime since this is marriage number two for me-hee hee

I will state that my love affair the first time was quite different and more like the relationship that Bella and Edward have since I was only 17 when I met my ex husband. It’s hard for me to share all of the similarities since will I know that Blackstone might read this and he is Engineer’s (shall we call him that) friend. I will share that my prior relationship was only about the excitement, tension and passion. There was not much more…
To make a marriage work you need passion and so much more!

Diosa

Curls - Yes, I know I've been bad. I'm usually much better about waiting until after we've discussed the book.

Just to clarify, though, I didn't mean that two men can't love a woman in one lifetime, the problem I have is with it being at the same time. You know, having the two suitors battle it out over you. So many stories and soap operas use this plot and I've never in real life seen a woman torn between two men. I guess it must happen to someone, though.

Alice

Oh, please Diosa - I've got 12 men battling it out over me - sheesh, I have to beat em off with a stick!

Kidding, kidding. I'm up to chapter 4 in the book and I can't lie - its getting better by the page.

The Model

I'm not sure I've ever seen it happen in real life except on The Bachelorette...

The very beginning with Captain Armani and me was not like that really at all. But once we were really in the thick of things, it was agony. One memorable episode involved him leaving for Tokyo, and me missing him so much after one day that I just bought a ticket and left the next day to join him there. Apart for 3 agonizing days, and I was already ready for the fencepost.

Diosa

Alice - Glad you're liking it.

Model - So glad to have you over here. Wow, jumping a plane to Tokyo, that's pretty intense.

Curls

Did you read the Twilight post at navel gazing at its finest? She hated it and it is very funny. I love a balanced look at things!

Diosa

Curls, I just read it. It is funny. Can't expect everyone to look at things the way I do, mostly I expect people not to.

Polly Poppins

I've had guys staring each other down over me plenty of times. Of course, they weren't necessarily deeply in love so much as hoping to get lucky.

Diosa

I'm sure you have, Polly. But I mean two men in a month or longer contest, competing for your commitment. You see this all the time in books, movies, soaps, but when does it ever happen?

Diosa

I swear vampires are more likely.

Polly Poppins

Diosa, maybe it would happen if we knew more vampires and werewolves.
